Features of the Virtual Background Preview Application

Preview screen If you create images for use as backgrounds you know it can be a problem getting the right proportion to match your subjects.

This is the solution.

Create your background image, load it into a test folder, open the preview page in your web browser and adjust the display.

You can test the image as a Super Slide or 35mm slide and tell quickly if the image will make a good background or not.

Background and File Selection Controls
file selection

File selection is done in one of two modes. With the Demo mode set to Off as shown in the top example, the user can select a file from the local computer to test as a background image by pressing the Choose File button. (This mode is unavailable in the on-line demo.)

In Demo Mode, shown in the bottom example, a set of 8 images are available to test. Just click on one of the images to load it into the studio window. (The user can change these files in the full version.)

To change modes, just click on the non-highlighted choice.

Background screen Width and Height can be changed to your background dimsnsions.

In some browsers, when a file is selected the file may load faster than the browser can identify the image properties. When this happens pressing the Display button will cause the background image to display correctly.

The Help button will open this page in a new tab or window. You must have an internet connection for the page to open.

Background File Controls

background controlsThe background may be adjusted by using any of the control buttons. Magnification is indicated above the Zoom controls, and degrees of rotation is indicated above the Rotate buttons. The Move buttons adjust the image as indicated.

The test background image may be viewed as either a Super Slide when the SS option is highlighted, or in a 35mm slide format when the 35mm option is highlighted.

Clicking on the Black, Red or Blue box will change the unexposed film area to that color. This can be uesful if the image edges are not clear when viewing the test.

Camera Controls
Camera controlsThe Camera controls set the position of the camera in the studio. Distance from the background is controlled by the To BG buttons, and the height of the camera center line is adjusted using the Height buttons. The distances are indicated above the controls.

Subject Controls
Subjects
Clicking on any of the subject images will place them in the studio. The subject can be moved closer or further from the background by pressing the To BG buttons. In some situations, purely for visual clarity, the subject can be moved upward off the studio floor by using the Levitate buttons. Distance to the background and height above the floor are indicated above the buttons.
Options

OptionsThe selected options are highlighted in red, and can be changed by clicking on one of the other selections.

The Studio view will display the entire studio. As you move the camera position the overall view will change.

In Screen view, only the image area covered by the background screen will be displayed.
